5th Annual School Supply Drive | Help Local Kids

Wow! We can’t believe this is our 5th annual school supply drive; the support you have provided our kids over the years is so impactful. While we can’t check off everything on their list we can provide many of the staples and help with large cost items such as calculators.

Here we are again – our team is looking forward to another successful distribution of supplies to kids in all of our programs! We need your help to ensure our kids are ready to learn on day 1.  We are committed to working with businesses, groups and individuals to organize drives, provide materials and pick up larger donations as needed.

As you very well know the school supply lists for kids these days are extensive. We have compiled an updated list for this year of the items most needed by our kids. We will accept all new supplies, but the following is a list of our most requested items:

  • Lunch boxes
  • 1, 3 or 5 subject notebooks
  • #2 pencils (mechanical, regular and pre-sharpened)
  • Pencil pouches and boxes
  • Crayola colored pencils and markers
  • Highlighters
  • 1 & 2 inch binders
  • Dividers (for binders)
  • Composition notebooks
  • Book covers
  • Pocket folders (regular and 3 prong)
  • Graphing (TI- 84+) and Scientific Calculators

At this time we do not currently need any backpacks.  We have a donor who will be fulfilling most of our backpack needs. There is a good chance we will have a small need in the upcoming weeks and we will inform you at that time.

Additionally, because we are a treatment level provider of foster care many of our kids are ages 10 and up. Therefore we ask that you consider tailoring your donation towards older kids. Monetary donations also help us to fill in any gaps and purchase calculators. You can donate easily by clicking here.

We look forward to working with you in the upcoming months! If you have any questions or would like to discuss hosting a drive please contact Ashley Pester, Development Director at apester@choicesfostercare.com or (937) 264-0084 ext. 122.

Your support will help many of our kids have a successful school year!
