Last week five CHOICES workers took 21 Independent Living Youth to Camp Kern for 2 days. The youth participated in team building activities and other activities designed to stretch their boundaries and comfort zones. While their two day visit was very HOT, they enjoyed many activities including swimming, horseback riding and a ropes course.
Independent Living manager Robert Bruce says, “Attitude is everything at camp”. Visiting Camp Kern is an opportunity for the youth to learn about nature and a little about themselves.
At the close of the camping adventure the youth vote for ‘Best Camper’ and ‘Most Improved Camper’. Congratulations to Mollina and Rayshawn for receiving the Best Camper Award. Additionally, Ben G. was voted as Most Improved Camper!
Each year the CHOICES staff works hard to plan summer activities for our youth in care, and because of your generosity and kindness we are able to provide them with experiences they otherwise would not have!
