Foster Care Parent Retention Specialist

We invest in each employee as a person and recognize the need for a work life balance.  Happy employees equal healthy kids and families.  CHOICES is looking for a Foster Care Parent Retention Specialist who is passionate about retaining and supporting foster parents.  The Foster Care Parent Retention Specialist is part of a dynamic team, in Dayton Ohio, who provides support to the foster parent licensing team, and engages with licensed foster parents.  The Foster Care Parent Retention Specialist should be energetic, passionate, highly detail oriented and able to work autonomously while becoming a part of the CHOICES family.  The Foster Care Parent Retention Specialist is responsible for engaging newly licensed parents, assisting with gathering required paperwork and developing a foster care parent mentoring program.

 Job Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to)

• Responsible for assisting assessors in recertifying licensed foster homes
• Report training hours quarterly to foster parents
• Organize events and track requirements for the mentoring program
• Conduct monthly follow-ups with newly licensed families
• Learn and maintain current knowledge of ODJFS foster care rules
• Provide support to the Foster Care Department
• Facilitate open communication between foster parents and foster care staff
• Complete system entries into Care Logic/SACWIS within required timeframes
• Assist with facilitating annual foster home reviews
• Responsible for the maintenance and review of foster parent files

 Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Must be computer literate (MS Word, Excel, database and web applications).
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience and efficiency managing multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously
