Parent Aide Case Manager

We invest in each employee as a person and recognize the need for a work life balance, healthy employees equal healthy kids and families.  CHOICES is looking for a Parent Aide Case Manager who is passionate about supporting others and building safe environments.  The Parent Aide Case Manager is part of a dynamic team, in Dayton Ohio, who provides support for parents during visitations with their children.  The Parent Aide Case Manager should be motivated and able to work autonomously while becoming a part of the CHOICES family.  The Parent Aide Case Manager is responsible for providing personalized services and building safe environments.

 Job Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to)

  • Provide in-home parent aid/case management and supportive services for youth and their families, and/or to acquire needed services for youth and their families in accordance with the scope of the contract.
  • Identify individual/family strengths and needs, utilizing the strengths to overcome identified needs.
  • Empower families to become self-advocates by instilling a sense of confidence in their abilities.
  • Reunifying children with their parents from foster care/residential placement, including but not limited to:
    • Supervising visitations
    • Fostering appropriate discipline techniques
    • Skill enhancement in basic child care
    • Budgeting
    • Meal planning and preparation
    • General housekeeping
    • Assistance in maintaining scheduled appointments
    • Provision of transportation to necessary services within the county
  • Provide support to families during times of crisis.
  • Maintain flexibility and schedule interventions at a time most effective and accessible for the family.


Job Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or at least 2 years experience working with at-risk families and/or families in need of parent aid services.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in crisis intervention, child adolescent development, and community services.
  • Must be computer literate (MS Word, Excel, database and web applications).
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate capacity to build relationships with clients served
