We are committed to providing exceptional programming to the kids and families we serve. Support, partnership, and donations from our community help to enhance the experiences of youth and families while they are a part of CHOICES. We enthusiastically provide activities and enhancements in a group setting and individual basis.

Special Events
Our Annual CHOICES Summer Classic Golf Outing is our largest fundraising event to support our mission! This annual event is held in July at Heatherwoode Golf Club in Springboro, Ohio. 30+ teams will meet us on the green for a day of fun with on course prizes, challenges and a door prize raffle! The event ends with a lunch, announcement of the winners, and raffle prizes.
It’s never too early to get on our list for 2025 (date TBD). We would love to share the opportunities for sponsorship and team registration.
This drive is designed to provide youth in our programs a portion of their school supplies at the beginning of the year, and help youth who enter our programs mid-year. Our supply area is available year-round for families to utilize!
School supply lists get a little longer each year, and while we can’t provide everything on the list we can provide the basics. CHOICES accepts monetary and in-kind donations of supplies.

CHOICES Annual Christmas drive is one of our most popular ways to get involved! As we know, Christmas time highlights togetherness and family everywhere you look. This can be especially hard for kids who are away from their parents and extended family.
With your support we can spread Christmas cheer in a variety of ways! Planning for this event begins in September. CHOICES accepts monetary and in-kind donations to help families in Dayton, Cincinnati, and the surrounding areas have happy Christmas memories. Join us for:

In-Kind Donations
When a child is placed in one of our foster homes, we provide a duffle bag with essential and comfort items appropriate for their age. From their first few days in the home, they know that the CHOICES family of supporters care.
Items can be purchased anytime using our Amazon Wish List and shipped directly to our office. We also welcome any donations purchased elsewhere and delivered to our office.
Contact us and we can share what age group of items we currently have the highest need.
Cleaning supplies are needed by our transitional age adults but also our families served by our home-based services program. For transitional age youth showing up with a bundle of cleaning supplies early on in the program helps us set the expectation for them to keep their space clean. This is definitely a learning process for our teens.

We have found that some groups have success with only collecting 3-5 items from the list. Either way it helps our stockpile!
Early October we host a trunk or treat event for our foster families. During the month of September and the first week of October we can take any donations of bagged candy to support this event.
Grab your favorite kind of treats – chocolate, gummy candies, sour candies and more and drop off to our office during business hours. Or consider shipping directly to our office.
If your business or organization would be interested in participating in the trunk or treat event please reach out to us! It is always fun to have community partners.
In the spring we collect donations of filled Easter Eggs and Easter Baskets for our foster family egg hunt. We can provide plastic eggs if needed for you to fill and return to us. We also can provide an age range of baskets needed. This will vary year to year dependent on the ages of our kids in care.
This is a fun event exclusive to our families. They will enjoying eating donuts, hunting for eggs and winning baskets. It is a chance for our kids to see other youth they have gotten to know at our events and through respite care.

Collectively individual donations of any amount make a big impact.
- Basic needs: Donations help us provide clothing, personal care and baby items to new placements. We also can help our home-based families with gaps of food insecurity. We help our transitional age parents with needs for their baby and children too.
- Individual and group activities: We believe that lack of funding should never be a reason that a child does not participate in a school sport or activity. Your donations help fund cheer, soccer, class trips and tutoring! Group activities are organized by CHOICES for foster families and independent living youth. Many occur during the summer season – camp, zoo, King’s Island, Dragon’s games and more!
- Celebrations: We believe in celebrating each success and donations help us to provide rewards for good grades and progress goals in therapy. We also are able to distribute birthday gift cards and celebrate graduation.
- Scholarships: Help support CHOICE foster youth achieve their post secondary goals. Your gift will help eliminate unique barriers foster youth face in earning their trade school certification, 2 or 4 year degree. Learn more about how to support by visiting our scholarships page.
Finally, general support means so much to CHOICES! Unrestricted donations allow us to provide the most up to date and current training for foster parents and staff. Your gift also allows us to upgrade technology and purchase new modalities and programs so we can continue to be a leader in serving youth and families.
