Thank you for making our First Annual School Supply drive a complete success! We thought we would provide large sibling group foster families, Home-Based families in need and our independent living kids with the essentials and because of YOU we did so much more.
A special thank you to Dayton Primary & Urgent Care, MacB, VAP Inc., SOAR and our private individual donors – your support means so much to our foster families, staff and the CHOICES family.
We had boxes filled with notebooks, paper, crayons, glue sticks. Bookbags filled with folders, pens and pencils and $10 Walmart gift cards. 100 individually packed grab and go boxes – 30 for our independent living kids. Messenger bags for the trip to and from school. Isn’t that amazing??? You made sure our kids were confident and ready to go back.
That isn’t all, we also had the private donations and $300 Staples gift card that provided 8 graphing calculators and 3 scientific calculators.
The supplies are still going out as needed or as we get new kids placed, so far 83 kids have received supplies. 54 in foster care, 24 in Home-Based and5 in IL.
For months to come new placements will receive the school necessities, and that is important in helping to ease going to a new school and being in a new home. You are an important part in showing our kids that the community cares…from the very start.
