For Immediate Release

Dayton, OH – (September 13, 2022) – Together CHOICES and WilmerHale announce a two-year partnership that will provide unrestricted funding to support foster youth and programs in the Miami Valley as well a volunteer component for WilmerHale staff.

The financial and volunteer support will have a great impact on the programs CHOICES provides, including foster care, independent living, and children’s mental health services. Volunteers will have the opportunity to volunteer at agency events like the annual Christmas party and Easter egg hunt.

In the last six months CHOICES has seen an increase in referrals for children needing safe homes, returning totals to pre-pandemic levels. Strong community partnerships help continue the mission of bringing change to youth and families in a number of ways. CHOICES programs are top notch, but enhancements are only possible through partnership and monetary support.

“This will be the first year we have a sense of normalcy with our events, including training for foster parents. The timing is perfect to bring a committed group of volunteers to our agency activities,” said Jane Anderson, Executive Director of CHOICES. “We are truly grateful for his partnership with WilmerHale, as a smaller non-profit this type of funding and partnership will have a large impact on growing the number of youth we serve.”

“WilmerHale strongly believes that we have a responsibility to help strengthen our communities and we have a long history of supporting public institutions and charitable organizations in the cities in which we practice,” said Georgeana Gartrell, director of workplace support information services at WilmerHale. “The WilmerHale Business Services Center is proud to select CHOICES as our newest philanthropy partner, harnessing the time and talents of both staff and lawyers in meaningful community service.”

The leadership team of CHOICES and the philanthropic committee of Wilmerhale have had many interactions during the selection process. This year’s partnership will officially kick off on September 21 at the Miamisburg offices of WilmerHale where CHOICES will share their mission and ways to volunteer in the upcoming year.
