This school year we urgently need to ensure foster kids are prepared on day 1… but we can’t do it without you.
Foster kids like Noah , who just entered foster care this past summer need your help. Noah has adjusted to his foster parents and siblings but will be starting a new school this year. Being a teenager Noah has fears…will anyone talk to me? What if I don’t make friends? Will my classes be hard? What do I bring on the first day?
You can help alleviate some of the fears Noah, and many of our kids are experiencing by helping them be prepared by donating school supplies. A new book bag will go a long way to help Noah be ready to approach the start of school with confidence.
In July we had over 250 youth in our programs and we want to make sure they are ready for school. Your donation of $50 will ensure that a child will receive a book bag filled with supplies. Join us in Saying Yes to our Kids, and help them be prepared on day 1 of the school year. We have compiled a list of the most needed items for teenagers, our largest population.
1. New backpacks
2. 1,3 or 5 subject notebooks
3. Black, blue and red pens (list continued on back)
4. #2 pencils, mechanical and regular
5. Highlighters
6. 1 inch binders
7. Dividers (for binders)
8. Book covers
9. Loose leaf college ruled paper
10. Graphing calculators (TI 84plus) or scientific calculators*
*Many kids are in High School and are required to have a graphing calculator for math and science class. We do our best to help minimize the cost to our parents, especially those with multiple teens in the home. Please consider a monetary donation to help provide the specific calculator a child needs
We can only help our kids be prepared with your support! Help us reach our goal of providing at least 100 kids supplies this school year. Your in-kind donation of new supplies or monetary donation will be greatly appreciated by Noah, Shelby, Shama, Leticia and many more kids in our programs.
