For the third quarter we would like to recognize Wayne Edmondson for Living the Mission of CHOICES. Wayne goes above and beyond for his families and clients. He excels at building relationships with families who are not always open to receiving services.
Wayne consistently does what is in best interest of the youth, even if it is not the easy road. He approaches each new client with hope and an individualized perspective. He is able to adapt his style according to the needs of the youth. As a result he has a wealth of knowledge to implement in sessions but to also share with fellow staff. When Wayne takes on a client, he becomes a constant and positive influence in their life. He will not give up on them and is known to comb the streets of Dayton looking for kids who have gone AWOL. This speaks to his level of care and concern and his desire to each youth to improve their lives.
Wayne is a relationship building expert as he brings a balance of empathy, advocacy, and gentle confrontation to strengthen every client and family served. County partners regular request Wayne to provide services when submitting referrals. At a recent meeting a local Children’s Services Director referenced her gratitude that he was providing services to a particular family. It says a great deal about his work and rapport when many partners request him by name.
In our home-based team, Wayne can be found encouraging other team members. He has an amazing energy and presence when he is in the office. He brings passion to the agency and years of experience that has earned the respect of many coworkers. The CHOICES family is quick to listen when he has an idea. Wayne is willing and eager to take on any challenge asked of him, including increasing his caseload despite having remarkable and consistent client contact hours.
It is our pleasure to recognize Wayne for his hard work and dedication to our families. If it were not for him there would be many families that would not have received services. Wayne has truly changed the lives of many kids. We are grateful to have him on our team and making an impact on the community.
